Hello NGC Coalition, My name is Andrew Sharp and I am excited to join Next Great City as its new outreach coordinator. Two issues that Next Great City is championing, vacant land reform and energy efficiency disclosure, are moving forward this spring. It is vital that our voices are heard. With six new members on City Council, we have an exciting and critical chance to shape our city’s future. NGC has achieved nine out of 10 of our 2007 recommendations and now it's time to make our Next Great City 2 agenda for City Council a reality. As the new coordinator of NGC, I’m incredibly excited to get started and -- with your help -- reignite the Next Great City campaign to make Philadelphia a safer, cleaner, more economically competitive city. I’d like to invite you to our first 2012 NGC coalition meeting. WHEN: Wednesday, March 14 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. WHERE: The AFSCME Building at 1606 Walnut Street, in the auditorium RSVP: sharp@pennfuture.org by Monday, March 12 Next Great City has been noticeably quiet, but we are ramping up for an active 2012. I’ll provide lunch; you provide your ideas and input. First up, we'll define immediate steps for upcoming hearings on a vacant land bank bill and an energy efficiency disclosure campaign over the next couple months. I'll be in touch shortly with more details and a meeting agenda, but please put our March 14 meeting on your calendar. If you can't make it on the 14th, but would like to be a part of our vacant land or energy efficiency disclosure working groups, please email me at sharp@pennfuture.org. I am anxious to meet all of Next Great City's members, so please give me a call or email me a time when you are available to sit down over a cup of coffee. Thanks,
